Freiburg
Not only is FREIBURG Germany’s greenest city, but it also indulges its guests with the most hours of sunshine in the nation! Nestled amongst woodlands and vineyards, Freiburg invites you to unwind in its charming city centre, relax in the City Garden, or take in panoramic views from the Schlossberg (Castle Hill) and the scenic Kanonenplatz (Canon Square). And that’s just the beginning – Freiburg has so much more to offer, whether for a perfect day trip or a longer stay.
Southern light, warm temperatures, Mediterranean flora, lively squares, long nights – words that could be used to describe Tuscany… or Freiburg im Breisgau.

Our special features!
The Freiburger Münstermarkt takes place every weekday right in front of the cathedral. On the north side of the cathedral, you will find the famous Freiburg sausage stalls.Don’t leave without trying the legendary “Lange Rote” (long red sausage), served with or without onions. Sounds quite simple but it’s a true must for any market visit.
Whether it’s a journey back in time to Freiburg’s founding days, a stroll through lush greenery, or a refreshing drink in the beer garden overlooking the city’s rooftops - the Schlossberg (Castle Mountain) is always worth a visit.
On the eastern side of Münsterplatz, the Alte Wache awaits, offering not only a wide selection of wines but also unforgettable wine experiences on its scenic vine terrace.
