Karlsruhe's Christkindlesmarkt has a long tradition and delights numerous visitors every year. The festive atmosphere on the market square and Friedrichsplatz transforms the city centre into a winter wonderland.
From 23 November to 23 December 2026, Karlsruhe's Christmas market invites you to discover and enjoy in the heart of the city - on the market square, on Friedrichsplatz and in the children's area on St. Stephan's church square.
Visitors can look forward to a very special programme of lovingly decorated stalls around the pyramid at the Christmas lights on the market square. In the communal huts on the market square, a variety of artisans present their home-made products.
The festively decorated gabled huts in the romantic Waldweihnacht on Friedrichsplatz tempt visitors with savoury and sweet specialities from all over the world. The covered seating areas of the "Karls-Ruhe-Plätzle" invite you to linger in comfort.
The Ferris wheel
Enjoy the marvellous view of the WEIHNACHTSSTADT Karlsruhe in the closed gondolas of the Ferris wheel, even in wind and weather, high above the rooftops of the city. All gondolas are barrier-free.
Flying Father Christmas
Every day at 17:00 and 19:30, high-wire artist Falko Traber, alias "Flying Father Christmas", floats over the market square in his reindeer sleigh.
