Rathaus, Hauptstraße 25, 78713 Schramberg

Schramberg and clocks - they go together like sand and sea. That's why Schramberg is never timeless - you can find clocks in many places. However, the astronomical clock on the town hall in the centre of the valley town is unique in its kind.

This masterpiece of watchmaking art captivates with its filigree details and intricacies. That's why you should take a little more time to admire this work of art.

The astronomical clock on Schramberg Town Hall first showed the time on Saturday, 5 July 1913.
In addition to telling the time, this unique work of art embodies a multitude of astronomical phenomena: Schramberg's local time, the sidereal day, the course of the sun through the zodiac, the moon and its phases as it moves through the zodiac each month, the date and month, sunrises and sunsets as well as solar and lunar eclipses.
