The astronomical clock on Schramberg Town Hall first showed the time on Saturday, 5 July 1913.
In addition to telling the time, this unique work of art embodies a multitude of astronomical phenomena: Schramberg's local time, the sidereal day, the course of the sun through the zodiac, the moon and its phases as it moves through the zodiac each month, the date and month, sunrises and sunsets as well as solar and lunar eclipses.
