Badischer Weinradweg - Variante zu Etappe 2: Freiburg/Glottertal

From Schallstadt, the route takes cyclists through St. Georgen, a district characterised by wine, to Freiburg's old town, where they can enjoy a particularly good meal on Münsterplatz at the Alte Wache (wine shop).

Strengthened, the route heads north out of the city again to Glottertal, where the famous "Roter Bur" vineyard can be explored with a detour into the valley.

The route continues to the wine village of Buchholz with the steep Sonnhalde vineyard. Here, 3 wineries and the winegrowers' co-operative tempt you to stop for a bite to eat.

From the Buchholz vineyard, you can see the impressive Hochburg ruins. The route then continues via Sexau to the old town centre of Emmendingen.

The variant then rejoins the main route in Malterdingen.
