Beschreibung
The end of the Lahr stage with its Schutterlindenberg can already be seen from the Heubergturm tower. The trail runs along the Ettenbach stream as a path together with the local mill hiking trail. The two separate at the retention basin and our wine trail climbs slightly to the Hörd vineyard. The wine pavilion there represents the surrounding wine villages and offers a covered rest area. The route continues through the vines to Wallburg. Following a loess lane, the wine trail leaves the village. The Peace Chapel and Lourdes Grotto invite you to reflect. At the edge of the forest and later meadows and orchards, the path leads to Schmieheim. The Schmieheim castle and the Schmieheim brewery with the Hyronimus beer pub are worth mentioning. A slight ascent leads to the Klotzwald forest. The wine trail now runs along the edge of the forest and offers a clear view of the Rhine plain and the towns of Kippenheim and Mahlberg below with its Staufer-era castle. The route continues through the forests of Eichberg past the Lahr district of Sulz. Between Sulz and Mietersheim, the hiker passes the Heutal valley and reaches the urban area of Lahr. The town is particularly in bloom during the Chrysanthema in autumn.
