Experience nature - enjoy the panorama
The Buchkopf tower is located in the village of Maisach above the Bad Antogast estate. On the beech tree in the immediate vicinity of the Westweg, the Renchtalsteig and the "Maisacher Turmsteig" quality trail.
From there you have a view over Oppenau, the Renchtal valley and the Rhine plain as far as the Vosges mountains.
The tower has 8 storeys and was built using modern cross-laminated timber construction. 13 tonnes of steel were added to ensure that this construction would hold. The exterior and interior cladding is made of local silver fir. The diameter is approx. 6.50 metres and it is 28 metres high and lies at approx. 900 metres above sea level. The open hexagonal shape allows a full panoramic view from every floor. The viewing platform can be reached via approx. 140 steps.
