The waterfall is one of the highest free-falling natural waterfalls in Baden-Württemberg and is particularly romantic.

The water falls over 32 metres directly over the Burgbach rock. The stream meanders through the Burgbach valley and flows into the Wolf. Various hiking trails lead to the waterfall, including the premium hiking trail "Klösterle-Schleife". Next to the waterfall is the Burgbachfelsen rock, on which there is a viewing pavilion offering a marvellous panoramic view.
