The Little Hansjakob Trail is a circular hiking trail in three stages with a total length of 54 kilometres. The trail is situated between the Kinzig and Wolftal valleys in the central Black Forest and is rich in views and experiences. The trail begins and ends in Schapbach, a suburb of the municipality of Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach, between Freudenstadt and Wolfach. This interesting hiking trail was named after the popular writer Heinrich Hansjakob and was inaugurated in 1981.
Anyone familiar with Heinrich Hansjakob's tales of forest folk and ore farmers will feel transported back in time as they hike through the landscape. The path is marked with the typical Hansjakob hat, the headgear with which Heinrich Hansjakob is depicted in many pictures.
There are explanatory panels at all the points of interest along the way, which refer to Hansjakob's life and stories.
