The German Diary Archive in the Old Town Hall has been collecting and archiving diaries, letters and memoirs since 1997 and making them accessible to academics and the public. It is the only institution of its kind in Germany. Anyone interested can view diaries there, take part in reading groups and deposit their own notes or those of their ancestors.
Guided tours of the diary archive for groups of all kinds are possible by prior arrangement.
In the museum in the German Diary Archive, selected documents are presented and analysed in changing exhibitions.
With the help of the audio guides, you can now visit the museum from the comfort of your own home. Professional narrators take you on an acoustic walk through 11 display cases of the museum in German, English and French.
