The Forum erlebnis:holz exhibition building in Bernau, in the Oberlehen district, has been impressing visitors for several years with its light and airy timber construction made of silver fir and glass. It is only a stone's throw away from the Resenhof local history museum.
Like the neighbouring Resenhof local history museum, the Forum erlebnis:holz is also dedicated to the Bernau "Schnefler trade". Bernau's modern woodworking industry has developed from the carving of simple wooden objects for work and everyday life. The forum regularly organises exhibitions on the subject of wood. Above all, however, it is the central "showcase" for today's Bernau woodworkers and craftsmen, whose workshops are scattered throughout one of the ten districts. During opening hours, informative films by Maximilian Eckmann from Bernau are also shown. These show interesting facts about buckets, making shingles and drilling the Deuchel.
On some evenings, music and cabaret with regional artists also delight visitors: events at the Forum erlebnis:holz. Free admission with the Bernau inclusive guest card!
