The name comes from the town twinning with Courbevoie, but is generally referred to by the population as the town park. In the park there is a memorial in honour of the fallen of the two world wars and a memorial stone to the 198th Infantry Division. A wreath-laying ceremony is held at the memorial every year on Remembrance Day.
It is worth visiting in spring when the rhododendrons are in bloom. There are roundels with old stands of rhododendrons throughout the park.
The trees, some of which are very old, offer shady places to linger in summer.
The town park was once Freudenstadt's cemetery. After the space became too small, the cemetery was relocated. Some gravestones, some of which are very old, can be found in today's cemetery.
The so-called "Frog Fountain" stands in the centre of the park. A low fountain with moulded frog figures on the edge.
The park is often used as a backdrop for wedding and family photos.
