Friedrichsbad - Historical Sight

In the years from 1869 to 1877, a monumental bathing palace was built in place of a broken down old town quarter in close proximity to the thermal springs, taking on the form of Italian High Renaissance. The Friedrichsbad was the most important and modern thermal spa in Germany in the late 19th century.
Following antique models, the basic outline is built up strictly axial symmetrically. The centre forms a circular, domed bathing area. A rest hall and foyer is spread across the entire width of the main floor.
