The municipality of Fröhnd is located at the southern end of the
Black Forest region of Belchen and, with its nine picturesque
districts of Hof, Ittenschwand, Kastel, Unterkastel, Ober- and
Niederhepschingen, Künaberg, Stutz and Holz.
While Unterkastel is situated at 400 metres, you will find the
highest elevations around Fröhnd are only around 200 metres lower than the impressive
the imposing Belchen summit. Shady forests and sunny, open mountain
characterise the wide, unspoilt landscape, which offers
inviting for all kinds of outdoor activities in both summer and winter.
A wide variety of hiking trails, marked vantage points, fascinating views, cosy places to stop for refreshments and the two themed trails "Shepherd's Trail" and "Primeval Forest Trail" make hikers' hearts beat faster. Wide forest paths and narrow trails along numerous mountain bike routes provide the right mix of enjoyable cycling and sporting challenge. If you want to take it easy on an e-bike, you can cycle along the tarmac mountain trail towards Pfaffenberg and then cycle back towards the Upper Wiesental on the Wiesental cycle path. For fishing enthusiasts, the Wiese between Utzenfeld and Fröhnd is the largest flowing water for fly fishermen.
In winter, the Hornlift in the district of Hof invites alpine sports enthusiasts to go skiing
and snowboarding. With a length of almost 1,0000 metres, the Hornlift is
