The circular hike starts at the Tannenhöhe car park on the upper Waldstraße. Following the "Schwarzwälder Genießerpfade" signs, we hike anti-clockwise.
On soft forest paths above the valley road, we pass the mighty Uhufelsen rock and enjoy the well-tended and varied forest landscape of the Germanswald forest along the Groppertal valley to the former Gasthaus Forelle inn. There we cross the road and the tracks of the Black Forest railway and continue on to the Breitbrunnen inn.
From here, the route continues through the Langmoos to the Salvest game reserve with its rest and play areas. On the final part of the tour, we pass the "Römerweg" (Roman path), the memorial stone of the head forester Ganter, the confluence of the Brigach and Kirnach rivers and the listed Kirnach railway station.
