Wegebeschaffenheit
The GeoTour Nagold "Between Sea and Desert" offers a fun hike for young and old along the castle hill slope. Various main themes such as building blocks in the old town, rivers, springs, landscape and the side topics of castle locations and sandstone are playfully made tangible on this path.
All texts and images for the stations and a detailed map are available in the accompanying brochure; there are no information boards on site. The flyer is available at the Tourist Information in the town hall.
Interested natural researchers can also purchase a GeoBox and the GeoCompact knowledge there for a protection fee.

Wegbeschreibung
The start is at the oldest building in Nagold, the Steinhaus.
Then cross Longwy Square diagonally and walk to Klebsteg with the eponymous city signpost.
From there cross the Waldach to continue on the path towards the "Celtic Prince's Burial Mound" at the city signpost "Joining Waldach".
Opposite the burial mound, on the river side of the path at the signpost "Bathing Jetty" (or at the city signpost "Prince's Burial Mound"), continue on the path towards the "Hohennagold Ruin" (or "Kleb City Park") and stop halfway across the bridge over the Nagold.
On the other side of the Nagold, go straight ahead at the signpost "Badepark" in the direction of "Kleb-Bähnle". When you reach a fork in the path at the foot of the castle hill, do not follow the hiking trail with the "Dog Rose" symbol to the right, but turn left and follow this path for 500 m. At the end of a parking lot there is a path junction secured on the hillside by a retaining wall on the right. At the embankment between the two forest paths, above the retaining wall, there is an outcrop, a window into geological history, visible.
Follow the forest path leading uphill to the right with the retaining wall on its left side for about 40 m until a colorfully stained outcrop appears above the retaining wall on the left, again a window into geological history.
Then continue along the uphill forest path with the retaining wall to a path junction.
Take the path leading downhill to the right and follow it.
Then follow the path downhill over three hairpin bends.
Continue following the path downhill until shortly before reaching the Nagold valley wooden channels cross the path and spring water flows out on the right side of the path.
After the spring, follow the downhill path to the gabion wall with the "walkable" tufa spring.
Then stairs follow. After these, go left to a kind of "small border stone museum".
Continue on the path a little to the signpost "Castle Hill Terrace". From here, go in the direction of the "station" and cross the Nagold on a small bridge.
This GeoTour mainly follows the easily found path signs of the city of Nagold. The route can also be loaded onto a smartphone via a QR code.
