Hausen im Wiesental (Alemannic: Huuse) is a municipality in the district of Lörrach in Baden-Württemberg. It is located in the central Wiesental valley and is known as the hometown of the Baden poet Johann Peter Hebel. The village was first mentioned in detail in 1362. From the 17th to the 19th century, Hausen was home to one of the most important ironworks in the Margraviate and later the Grand Duchy of Baden, and from the second half of the 19th century, the village was characterised by the textile industry. The municipality of Hausen has 2376 inhabitants (31 December 2019) and covers an area of 514 hectares; apart from the village of the same name, it does not include any other localities.
