The Hornberger Platte is located directly above the swimming pool, is easy to reach and in summer offers the opportunity to cool off and relax at the end of a long day of climbing. With a south-easterly exposure and dark rock, the crag requires a certain amount of heat tolerance on midsummer days, but is a great spot after work, on cloudy summer days, in spring, autumn and after rain.
The bike trial riders of the MSC Hornberg also train in the former quarry. We ask for mutual consideration. In particular, we would ask you not to cross the MSC training area or use it for any other purpose. The only access to the rock is directly at the entrance to the training area on the right hand side and is marked.
In spring (usually on the first weekend in May), the crag is closed on one weekend. This is when national championships are held on the bike trial site. The exact date will be announced on this website.
