It sounds mysterious: "Hünersedel". Nobody really knows where the name for the highest mountain in Freiamt comes from. However, the version persists that it contains the word "Hünensessel".
The tower turns everyone into a giant. Like a miniature and almost fragile, the world lies at your feet. A patchwork of light green meadows, dark green forests, white houses and brown fields. The view literally flies to the south and west over the Rhine valley with the Kaiserstuhl to the curved line of the Vosges mountains. And to the north over the Brandenkopf to the Hornisgrinde, the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest. You can also see the Elz Valley and marvel at how close the Kandel seems.
