In 1999, Hurricane Lothar brought down large areas of woodland on the Schliffkopf mountain. On this 900-metre-long adventure trail next to the Black Forest High Road (Schwarzwaldhochstraße) you will be able to observe how nature develops when left to its own devices following such an event.
The Lothar Trail leads visitors over boardwalks, steps and ladders and an observation platform offers views across the high ridges of the northern Black Forest and into the valley towards Oppenau. Regular guided tours of the Lotharpfad also take place.
Height profile: The path is flat, but leads over some stairs (about 20 m)
