Whether over the landscape protection area Thimos in Oberhof into the Murgtal, over the signpost clay pit to the Murghaldenbrücke or the Murgtalpfad following: many ways lead into the Murgtal.
The Murgtal used to play an important role in the connection of the Hotzenwald with the Rhine Valley. There was until 1913 a daily stagecoach connection from Murg to Herrischried. This original stagecoach still exists today as one of the last ride-ready stagecoaches, available for special occasions.
In the footsteps of this stagecoach connection, covered wagons are in the Murgtal today. Feeling the hoofbeat of the horses changing the heartbeat is a unique experience. A wheelchair wagon is available for disabled guests. Contact: Murgtal-rides, Heidi and Joachim Behringer, Murg-Hänner, Tel. 07763/5170, www.murgtal-fahrten.de .
From the Murg Valley, you climb steep stone steps past the Lehenbach waterfalls to the castle ruin Wieladingen. The observation tower is accessible and offers a wonderful foresight - in good weather with an alpine view.
