This tour takes you from the High Rhine up into the legendary Hotzenwald forest - and even underground if you wish! Start at Bad Säckingen railway station and explore the spa town on the circular mountain of the High Rhine. You reach our next stage destination Brennet via the Rhine Valley cycle path, which you leave here in the direction of Wehratal. Via the town of Wehr, you reach Hasel with its Erdmannshöhle cave, which of course can only be reached on foot. You may also want to walk on the next section of the route, as a 20% incline awaits you via Glashütten (alternative via the district road).
The next destination is anchored in the "eco-village" of Gersbach, whose quality agricultural products are known throughout the region and are offered in style in a "Chäschuchi" and a village butcher's shop. We reach Todtmoos and the Wehratal valley after a bold downhill stretch via the district of Au. From Todtmoos with its mythical village, we head towards St. Blasien and cross the Ibacher Kreuz pass into the moorland of the northern Hotzenwald. We reach the Murg Valley and follow it via Hottingen to Murg on the High Rhine. From here, the Rhine Valley cycle path takes us back to Bad Säckingen.
