From Rothenfluh, a short hike along the young Ergolz takes you to the valley ponds, which are a nature reserve. Continue through the gorge and past the waterfall up to Oltingen. The trail leads through shady woodland with deer-tongue ferns, and in spring also with bluebells and a fragrant carpet of wild garlic. The way back is the same as the way there. Easy hike, but partly on narrow paths, one-way distance approx. 4 km, approx. 200 metres in altitude.
