"On the Trail of the Red Deer" - stage 6: Kniebis - Freudenstadt

We leave the hotel and walk to the viewpoint "Ellbachseeblick" and the ruined monastery in the village of Kniebis. Then we follow the border trail ("Grenzweg") to Auerhahnköpfle along the old border between Baden and Wurttemberg with ancient landmarks with well-preserved coats of arms. From here we walk downhill to the Kastelstein, a massive rock formed like a table. The tour continues towards Zwieselberg, from where we follow the "Mittelweg" trail towards Freudenstadt. Past the Kienberg hill with its magnificent view over Freudenstadt we arrive at the Hotel Teuchelwald.
