What is best about a hot summer day? Exactly, a bike ride up to the cooler levels of the Black Forest – which becomes the perfect route if refreshment stations are along the way. Starting from Malsch, the ride goes through the forests of the nature park up to Völkersbach. From the Malsch part of the Black Forest, the ride continues toward Schöllbronn and – past the 900-year-old Rimmelsbacher Hof – to the water. Fancy the first refreshment in the Waldbad Schöllbronn? Or carry on, enjoying the wonderful view over the Moosalb valley to Spessart, down into the Alb valley and back up to Waldbronn. Just don’t drink too much of the delicious barley beer at the Lindenbräu beer garden, because the route is not over yet. Those who skip the cool waters in Schöllbronn can cool off at the Ettlinger Albgau outdoor pool. Or enjoy an ice cream in the old town. The last flat stretch over Ettlingenweier back to Malsch is then just a breeze.

Wegbeschreibung
First, from Malsch, the route climbs through the mountain forest on the winding state/county road past Völkersbach and the Rimmelsbacher Hof to Schöllbronn. On the way to Spessart, wonderful views open over the Moosalb valley and toward Mahlberg. Always following the elevation, the Ettlingen district of Spessart is then reached. From there, the route descends the Heuweg down to the Alb at Neurod and then climbs steeply again to Waldbronn-Reichenbach. At the Lindenbräu guest brewery, both your own and the e-bike batteries can be recharged. Past the thermal bath Albtherme along the railway line, the route returns to the Alb valley and continues on the bike path into the picturesque old town of Ettlingen. From there, the path leads almost flat over Ettlingenweier back to the starting point in Malsch.
Sicherheitshinweise
