The starting point of the circular hike is the town hall square at the large hiking board, the so-called "squirrel signpost". Behind the
squirrel forest, we keep to the right, cross the road and follow the forest path towards Nonnenmühle. Behind it, the path climbs steeply for a short distance, but at the top we are rewarded with a magnificent view over Burgberg as far as the Swabian Alb.
We continue along the edge of the forest on gravel and natural paths. A short stretch through the moss-covered forest again, then we cross the road towards Weiler on the Unteren-neuen-Welt-Weg. After another idyllic section of forest, we cross a meadow and then descend steeply to the Fuchsloch. A gently babbling brook, the Glasbach, awaits us at the bottom, where you can enjoy a wonderful rest and snack. We continue along the course of the stream towards Burgberg. Numerous historic farms and mills await us here, which can also be visited. At the Neuhausbauernhof farm there is fresh wood-fired bread, and at the Götz family's sawmill we can stock up on various flours and mueslis.
The route continues through the village, past the old town hall. On the right-hand side, we follow a small, steep section of forest up to a housing estate. The legendary Weiberzahn ruins rise up on the left, which we can also pay a short visit to. We follow the signs through the small housing estate back downhill towards Königsfeld. A small natural path leads us through the Kohlwald forest, past the Königsfeld cemetery, the Gottesacker and back to the starting point.
