The Pfaffenrot Cross Route connects numerous wayside crosses and shrines. On the Pfaffenrot high plateau, there are also wonderful views possible. The tour starts at the town hall and the St. Wendelinus Chapel. Passing the village museum Kantebuahaus and the St. Josef Church, you reach the first wayside cross at the edge of the village. You walk through scenic meadows past further wayside crosses and shrines to return to the starting point.

The village museum "Kantebuahaus" with a bakehouse and fruit distillery. The predecessor of today’s property was the inn "Zur Kanne", documented since 1789. In the "Old Council Chamber" on the upper floor of the museum, there is also the gallery of honorary citizens of the municipality of Marxzell.

Wegbeschreibung
This tour begins at Marxzell Town Hall. Here you also find the St. Wendelinus Chapel. Follow Pforzheim Street south, past the village museum and St. Josef Church. The church is circled on a footpath and then continue to the right on Heinrich-Hall Street to Pforzheim Street. Follow this street to the left to the first wayside cross on the right. At the station, turn right and descend a staircase between the Carl-Benz Hall and the festival ground to a small connecting path turning left onto "Im Engert" Street to Weinbrünnle Street. Turn left there and follow this street to the village outskirts. Outside the houses, take the first left, past the water reservoir, to the district road. On the right, you will now see the second wayside cross, where you can also enjoy the view. Cross the street and follow the narrow paved footpath that winds around the village past two more wayside crosses. In the village, follow Blumenstraße left to the junction to Lorenzstraße on the right. Follow this to the end of the street. Follow the field path to the left. Turn right at the corner of Carl-Benz Street. Follow the footpath northwards, running with a nice view to a wayside cross at the forest edge before you reach the houses again. Turn right onto "Im Neufeld" to the first turn into Ettlinger Street. The last section leads again over Carl-Benz Street and Kreuzstraße back to St. Wendelinus Chapel.
Alternatively, at the start of the tour, you can continue along Pforzheim Street (skip circling the church) and visit the wayside cross at Pforzheim Str. 28.
