The town's best-known son is Willi Stächele, former Baden-Württemberg Minister of Finance, who was born here in Rheinweiler.
Rheinweiler is home to the town's main school, where primary school pupils from all parts of the town are taught.
The St Nicholas Chapel and the baroque castle of the Lords of Rotberg, which today houses the Rheinweiler Castle nursing home, bear witness to the old days.
Regular events include the Grümpel tournament organised by the Bamlach - Rheinweiler football club on the first weekend in July and the Rheinauenlauf run organised by TV Rheinweiler in April.
