From Freudenstadt, the route leads through the forest to Lossburg and from there through a variety of forests and meadows past many old hamlets and farms, through Aischfeld, Römlinsdorf, Rötenberg and Aichhalden to Schramberg-Sulgen. From there, the route leads mainly downhill through the villages of Hardt, Königsfeld and Mönchweiler to Villingen.
