Belchen, Blauen, and Schauinsland - from afar already the defining scenery of the Southern Black Forest. Taking them all in one day is daring but doable. The Team Telekom used to prepare here for the mountain stages of the Tour de France. You will hardly find longer climbs in the low mountain range - nor faster descents. The mental challenge: after each valley, a new mountain follows...
Autorentipp
Good pasta is served in the Belchenhaus against hunger in between - but who still wants to climb Stohren afterward ;-) (then just shortcut and skip Schauinsland - saves a full 50 km and avoids the hardest climb)
Wegbeschreibung
Via L 130, the route initially climbs from Münstertal to Haldenhof and then to Kreuzwegpass, followed by a rather rapid descent to Badenweiler. The first Black Forest giant now awaits with the Blauen. Descending, we touch the Kandertal to reach the Kleine Wiesental near Tegernau. From here, it climbs uphill to Neuenweg at the southern foot of Belchen. Those who look closely when climbing can already spot the Belchenhaus, our next summit stop and the highest point of the route (side road, beware, a small section behind the valley station is unpaved, barrier!). From Belchen to Wiedener Eck, it goes cheerfully up and down. On the long descent via L 123 to the Stohren junction, gather courage because now comes the key point of the entire route. Harmless on the map, the Stohrenstraße up to Schauinsland is a nasty companion with gradients up to 18% for some stretches - not for Dutch bikes ;-) We enjoy the last summit, Schauinsland, already in the mild afternoon light - including a view of the Vosges. Now it goes down the famous mountain race route to Freiburg and through Hexental, rolling back via Ehrenkirchen and Staufen into Münstertal.

Road bike with mountain gearing
Sicherheitshinweise
The route was deliberately planned so that poor road surfaces occur on the ascents. On the descents, always watch out for motorcycles, etc. - if possible, avoid doing the route on Sundays. Otherwise, we mostly move on secondary roads.
