Description
Right next to the Prince of Fürstenberg’s palace, the source of one of the world’s most romantic rivers has been enclosed in an elegant stone basin in the palace grounds. A sculpture shows “Mother Baar” holding a child (the young Danube) on her lap. Stand here and look into the pool called the Karstaufstossquelle: The water you see will flow through four major capital cities!
If you want to learn more about the history(ies) of the Danube Source, you can take part on the guided tour directly to the Danube source. Further information are available in the Tourist Office, Tel. +49 (0) 771 857-221.
