Starting in Freudenstadt (total length 64 km) or in Baiersbronn (total length 57 km) down to the former royal seat of Rastatt, the route leads past idyllic corners and picturesque villages and harmoniously combines culture, landscape and tradition. In addition to extensive forests and open valleys, the "Tour de Murg" winds its way past magnolia trees, chestnut, fir and deciduous forests.
For families with children, the tour down the valley, which is around 64 kilometres long, is particularly recommended, as the gradient along the entire route is 500 metres in altitude, making it much easier to make progress. The tour up the valley, on the other hand, is a sporting challenge. In the warmer months, you can refresh yourself in the pools along the route or take a break at the numerous barbecue areas, rest areas and playgrounds. The entire route is well signposted both up and down the valley. Most of the cycle route is tarmac, with some sections on forest paths that are easy to cycle on.
