Here you will find precious nature and excellent hiking opportunities on over 1,400 kilometres of hiking trails. For us, hiking is not just an activity, but a passion. We are proud that our region has been recognised by the German Hiking Association as a "Quality Region Hikeable Germany".
Narrow paths wind their way through wild and romantic gorges, dense forests and mystical moors. Gentle mountain peaks sink into the haze of the sun, one after the other. If you are looking for silence, you will find it here. Breathe in, breathe out. Feel the healing air flowing through your lungs. The wind moves the treetops, a cuckoo calls you to set off. Grounded, the path continues across green meadows and small bridges, back to civilisation.
There, half-timbered houses and baroque architecture invite you to marvel, and regional delicacies beckon in the shop windows. The famous thermal baths welcome tired hikers and cyclists with their cosy warmth after a busy day. There are often only a few metres between adventure and picturesque little towns.
