As soon as the ice cliff on the Höll near Utzenfeld is covered in ice, you can climb it. The natural layer of ice, fed by a diverted spring above the rock, is 10-30 cm thick. The 20 metre high rock is secured with top ropes (i.e. safety ropes are anchored to the top of the rock) and is a real treat for climbing enthusiasts with medium to difficult climbing passages.
The ice crag is located just 20 metres from the car park on the B 317 road opposite Utzenfeld in the Black Forest on the hiking trail to Michelrütte. From Wieden, the bus stop Utzenfeld is approx. 10 minutes away from the ice climbing crag.
For safety reasons, only very experienced ice climbers should take up the challenge (use at your own risk! All liability excluded).
