Geological nature trail
The geological nature trail starts at the Junghans car park on Geißhaldenstraße and leads up to the Hohenschramberg castle ruins, past the Lauterbacher waterfall. On the way, you cross the main Schramberg faults twice, which are well worth seeing. Many information boards help to decipher the traces of the Black Forest's 300 million year old geological past. We invite you to discover the natural heritage of the Schlossberg on this approx. 1.5 hour hike (altitude difference approx. 200 m).
The vegetation trail
Geology and flora are closely related. It therefore makes sense to combine the vegetation trail and the geological trail in one hike. The vegetation trail starts at the end of the geological trail at Hohenschramberg Castle and leads via the shorter descent from the castle ruins back to Schramberg (walking time approx. 45 min.). Along the trail you can marvel at the extraordinary diversity of the protected plant and animal world. With the help of the display boards, the dramatic transformations to which the plant world has been subjected over the last millennium can be understood.
