We start our tour in Schönau. From here, the road initially leads us steadily uphill on the B317 to the Feldberg Pass (1,231 m), followed by a short descent to Bärental. In Bärental we keep to the right and follow the road towards Schluchsee. After passing Altglashütten, we come to the Windgfällweiher pond before reaching Schluchsee. Hidden behind the trees is a beautiful natural swimming pool. The tour continues uphill along a narrow road to Raitenbuch (940 m) and then in the direction of Lenzkirch. Here we follow the road to Schluchsee (reservoir, outdoor adventure pool). The route continues along the lake to Seebrugg. Here we leave the lively road and follow it to the left up to Rothaus (Badische Staatsbrauerei, Heimat-museum Hüsli, detour to Schlüchtsee possible). Keeping to the right at the roundabout, we reach Birkendorf via Grafenhausen. Here we turn left onto the K 6593 and reach the Steinatal after approx. 4 km. The Steinatal is also a popular route for motorcyclists, which takes us past the Steinasäge to Bonndorf (Bonndorf Castle with Narrenstuben). In Münchingen we turn right to Grimmelshofen and then left to Fützen (viaduct of the Sauschwänzlebahn railway). Shortly afterwards we have the opportunity to take a ride on the Sauschwänzlebahn (museum railway) in Blumberg. Via Achdorf we cycle along the idyllic Wutach and Ewattingen back to Bonndorf. From Bonndorf via Boll, the partly narrow road leads us into the Wutach Gorge (narrow valley with three gorge-like sections) and on via Löffingen to Unterbränd. Here, off the road, the Kirnbergsee lake once again beckons for a swim. Via Mistelbrunn, we roll down the wooded road to Bubenbach. At Hammereisenbach we enter the Urachtal valley with its typical Black Forest farms and turn left onto the Schwarzwaldhochstraße (B 500) towards Thurner (1,020 m). Here the route descends along the former Spirzen race track to Kirchzarten. Via Oberried, past the Steinwasenpark and Hofsgrund (Schniederlihof farm museum), we head towards Todtnau, where the Todtnau waterfall (97 m) at Aftersteg invites us to pay another short visit. We then head down the valley to Todtnau, where we keep to the right and follow the road for the last seven kilometres on the B317 to Schönau.
