The House of Baden knows how to harmonise innovation and tradition and set standards early on for today's quality winegrowing in Baden. Margrave Carl Friedrich had the original single-varietal Klingelberg Riesling planted at Staufenberg Castle in 1782. Schloss Staufenberg has been family-owned since 1693.
2012 is a special year for the winery. It is the anniversary year: 900 years of the Margraves of Baden. At the same time, the winery was accepted into the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP) - an incentive and commitment for the future.
The catering facilities at Schloss Staufenberg were renovated and extended, and the wines were given a new look.
