The animals are regularly fed a species-appropriate diet of grain, maize and beetroot. Wild boars are also omnivores. They also like to eat mice, worms, roots, acorns and plums.
Digging through the soil with their sensitive noses also ensures that the forest floor is well aerated.
Tip: You can get really close to the wild boars if you go onto the viewing platform that extends into the enclosure. This allows you to watch the herd wallowing and feeding at close quarters.
There is a food dispenser at the viewing platform. If you can spare a few two-euro pieces, you can leave wild boar food out there. With a bit of luck, wild boar watchers can enjoy the sight of the animals comfortably eating while the animals savour the feast.
An information board also provides interesting facts about the animals' lives.
And the nearby barbecue area with play area is a wonderful place to picnic and run around afterwards.
A fun way to experience nature!
