Wegmarkierung
The Wolfsgrube circular route runs along the slopes of the Teinach, idyllically through deciduous and coniferous forests with beautiful views. The namesake is the round stone-walled Wolfsgrube, which was formerly used as a trap pit covered with brushwood. Today, the task is to discover the namesakes around the pit. The hiker reaches the fairy meadow on enchanted paths, where the sky swing invites you to linger and dream. Over the mighty Beilfelsen made of Buntsandstein, one walks past the Erbenwald campsite back to the starting point.
Autorentipp
After the steep ascent to the Beilfelsen, don't forget to take a detour to the viewpoint. A bench is ready for enjoying the view.
Wegbeschreibung
The start is at the parking lot between the Liebelsberg cemetery and the water tower.
The portal sign shows us the direction. Past the water reservoir, the narrow meadow path leads us directly to the first viewpoint. We enjoy the view towards Liebelsberg and Oberhaugstett. Then we continue to follow the Genuss trail signs and hike over meadows and field paths to the edge of the forest. Along there, we follow the path and turn right onto a small path into the forest. The path leads to the small viewing platform with a view into the Teinach valley.
After overcoming the first ascent, we find a memorial stone by the wayside. Further through rustic forests and winding paths, we reach the fairy meadow. The sky swing invites you to linger and dream. Rested, we continue to the viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of Zavelstein castle and the Teinach valley.
The path leads us on a soft trail to the Wolfsgrube. Here it is time to discover the namesakes around the round stone pit. Passing the shelter, the ascent to the Beilfelsen begins. The mighty Buntsandstein rock rises majestically above the Teinach valley. Once at the top, we are rewarded with a fantastic view over the ridges of the northern Black Forest. Now the path gently takes us up and we enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the forest. Passing the Erbenwald campsite, we hike back to the starting point.
Ausrüstung
Good and sturdy footwear is advisable.
Sicherheitshinweise
The best hiking time is from April to October, although the ascent to the Beilfelsen can be slippery all year round.
