The wood figure trail connects various wood carvings created by Dieter Rathfelder. Currently, 13 artworks can be admired here. They are mainly distributed around the wild boar enclosure. The paths are well walkable for families and mostly flat.
And don’t worry, strollers are also taken care of! The stroller-friendly variant is about one kilometer shorter and mostly runs on gravel paths: adapted alternative route.
The special feature of this walk is that along the route many highlights of the Calw city forest appear.
A detour to the legendary gibbet is just as recommended as a deserved rest at the barbecue area "Old Seed School".
At the wild boar enclosure, patience is required! These shy forest dwellers don’t show themselves to everyone. But with the new self-service feeding machine, your chance to see them increases.
The best view over the animals’ home can be found on our viewing platform on the western side of the enclosure.

Wegbeschreibung
The starting point of the walk is at the hiking parking lot "Zavelsteiner Sträßle" in Calw-Wimberg. About 50 meters into the forest, we keep left at the fork. The path merges onto the Gibbet Way. Here, turn left again. Before the fork "Stone Bench" go right (ATTENTION: do not follow the Water, Forest, and Meadow Trail towards the valley/Calw!). We then pass the first three figures before the path continues on a more natural trail. After the third figure, we leave the Gibbet Way and turn right. After a few meters, the legendary gibbet appears on the left side. Afterwards, we return to the Gibbet Way and follow the signage towards Rötelbachtal. At the signpost located at the intersection "Old Seed School," we leave the gravel path and pass the barbecue area towards the wild boar enclosure. After a short time, we reach the wild boar enclosure and, turning left, pass the two figures "Eagle" and "Wild Boar." The circuit around the wild boar enclosure is interrupted by a short detour to the "Forest Dwarf." After the turn, we turn left to the Wölflesbrunnen and the associated figure "Wolf." At the end of the path, we continue right on the path "Lower Line." There, the wood figure "Falcon" awaits friendly encounters and guides the path to the viewing platform. Next, we continue to circle the wild boar enclosure and take a right at the next intersection. We are then on the Sunny Slope Path. Here we encounter the figure "Owl." Finally, this path leads back to the starting point with two more detours to the figures "Squirrel" and "Bear."
