From the Dachsberghalle in Wittenschwand, you hike along a quiet forest path to Arnoldsloch and continue along an old smugglers' path to Höll. Here you climb the Bildstein rock, which offers a sweeping view over the southern Alb valley. The route then descends back down into the Alb valley over some steep sections, where the path leads to the Alb reservoir. A water treading area invites you to refresh yourself before you walk halfway round the lake on natural paths and over a long footbridge. From the Albtalstraße, a narrow, idyllic path leads over the Guckauchenloch and the Fünfwegscheid past small streams and rocks up to the Häusern sports ground. Continue along the rocky path into the village. Paths and trails lead to the Windberg waterfall, from where you pass impressive rocks until you reach the junction of the Albsteig trail to St. Blasien. From here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the town before tackling the short stretch to the town centre.
