Go on a voyage of discovery with your children and try to catch a glimpse of one or two red deer or fallow deer.
Red deer are one of the typical game species of the Black Forest. Finds have shown that it was already at home here during the Ice Age. The lifespan of red deer is around 20 years. An adult stag weighs around 3.5 centners. The stags shed their antlers between February and April, by the end of August they have grown new, stronger antlers. The stags wear their strongest antlers when they are between 10 and 15 years old.

The game reserve is located deep in the Tonbach valley right next to the national park.
Klosterreichenbach
The state game reserve is a living reminder of the former royal forestry and hunting grounds. It is located directly on the Ailbach stream in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Ailwaldhof.
Hinterlangenbach
The game reserve is located deep in the Schönmünztal valley in the district of Hinterlangenbach. The water treading area is located nearby. The national park area also begins there.
