Idyllically situated
The Krunkelbachhütte is surrounded by meadows and pastures. In summer, the owner of the hut is also the grazing warden for the cattle around the mountain inn.
The hut offers rustic refreshments (bratwurst, stew, mountain cheese), nice seating outside the hut and overnight accommodation. For those travelling along the Bernauer Premiumweg and Black Forest premium hiking trail "Hochtal Steig", this is the halfway point.
Also popular in winter
Snow hikes with touring skis, snowshoes or cross-country skis through the unspoilt snow-covered landscape are particularly appealing in winter. Follow the prepared and groomed trails.
If you prefer a more comfortable ride, you can take the Pistenbully from the Krunkelbachhütte in Bernau-Hof and then even toboggan 3.5 km back down on a hired sledge. It is one of the longest toboggan runs in the Black Forest.
Just below the Krunkelbachhütte you come to the Herzogenhorn nature trail, which leads to the summit of the Herzogenhorn.
Overnight accommodation
Please book in good time, as the few double and multi-bed rooms are very popular, especially during the peak hiking season!
