Bike path along the Klosterroute Northern Black Forest - Stage 3

The third stage of the monastery route begins at the town hall of Kälberbronn. Turn left onto "Seidenbronner Straße" until the village end, then we follow the district road K 4728 uphill. After about 2 km, we cross K 4775 and continue straight on the road towards Musbach. At the end of the descent into the Glattbachtal, we turn left at the forest edge onto a gravel service road. After a few meters, the route turns right and follows the service road through a hollow uphill through the forest to the Musbach glider airfield. After the airfield, it continues on an asphalted service road to Untermusbach.

In Untermusbach, the route turns left onto "Dornstetter Straße" and after about 100 m turns right onto "Wannenweg." The bike route now follows the asphalted service road downhill towards Grüntal for about 2 km. Before the entrance to Grüntal, the route changes to L 409 and leads down into the village. At the end of the descent, we follow the bike trail signage towards Freudenstadt through the village. At "Reutegasse," the path continues slightly uphill straight onto an asphalted service road. After about 1 km, the forest edge is reached, and the route turns left on the service road downhill to Wittlensweiler. After the descent, we turn right before the railway bridge onto "Seebach Straße." At the next intersection, we turn right again and then ride straight uphill into "Birkenwaldstraße" out of Wittlensweiler. At the intersection at the end of the street, the route turns half-left uphill on the service road towards Freudenstadt.

After crossing the bridge over the B 294, the route goes slightly uphill past the cemetery to "Friedrich List Straße." The bike route crosses the street towards the S-Bahn station and uses the crossing east of the platform. Then it goes straight past the bus stop and along "Musbachstraße." At the intersection with "Ringstraße," we keep right and follow the street uphill to the roundabout at Freudenstadt Stadt station. At the roundabout, take the second exit downhill and immediately turn left into "Moosstraße." At the next intersection, turn left again into "Hirschkopfstraße" and follow the signage towards Offenburg on the "Kinzigtal bike trail." The route now follows "Martin Luther Straße" past the marketplace and further along the B 28. After a right curve uphill, the route leads via the middle left turn lane into "Lauterbadstraße." After the spa house, the route turns right uphill into "Friedrich Ebert Straße." At the end of the street, the bike route changes to "Herzog Friedrich Straße" and continues uphill to the Friedrichsturm.

After the tower, we continue straight on a gravel service road into the forest towards Loßburg. After about 1 km, at an intersection on the service road, it goes half-left downhill. At the next intersection, we go straight and uphill again for about 500 m. Then the route follows the main path left downhill towards Loßburg. On the outskirts of Loßburg, turn right, following "Breuningerweg." At the end of "Obere Schulstraße," continue downhill to the right over the streets "Am Wassergraben" and "Weiherweg" to "Schloßring." There, turn right and continue to "Alpirsbacher Straße" / B 294. At the intersection, go straight, following the bike trail signage towards Schenkenzell, into "Alte Turnplatz" street. At "Oberndorfer Straße," the route turns right and follows L 408 uphill for about 100 m. At the next intersection, turn right into "Arthur Hehl Straße." At its end, turn right before the fire station entrance and after a few meters turn left into "Rudolf Diesel Straße." After about 100 m, the bike route turns left and follows the asphalted service road downhill. At the next fork, the route follows the agricultural road to the right downhill to the forest edge towards Alpirsbach.

After about 250 m, we reach a wide gravel forest road and follow it straight for about 6 km to the fork "Untere Mühle." There we turn left and follow the service road uphill about 500 m. Then it continues downhill towards Alpirsbach. After about 2.5 km, we change to a poorly paved road that leads very steeply down to the Kinzig at the outskirts of Alpirsbach. The route crosses L 415 straight into "Aischbachstraße" and follows it along the Kinzig to the town center. At the end of the street, turn right over the Kinzig into Marktstraße. After about 50 m on foot against the one-way street, we cross "Hauptstraße" / B 294 and the railway crossing and reach the market square. Then, follow the street about 100 m to the right uphill and reach Alpirsbach monastery, the destination of our bike route.
