The starting point for the boat trip is the town of Bad Säckingen, which is over 1100 years old. The passenger ship "Trompeter von Säckingen" takes you to the historic wooden bridge, where the ship turns and the journey down the Rhine begins. Past idyllically situated communities on the German and Swiss banks, to the "Wehramündung nature reserve" with its reed belt. The viewer's gaze repeatedly wanders to the foothills of the Black Forest and the heights of the "Hotzenwald" - the southern part of the Black Forest. From Wallbach, the boat trip heads towards Schwörstadt and back to Bad Säckingen.
Departure is always at 14:30 below the castle park on the Rhine promenade. The boat trip ends back in Bad Säckingen at around 4:30 pm.
Once a month there are also special breakfast cruises on the boat.
The timetables vary depending on the season and can be checked here: Trumpeter boat timetables.
