In 2015, this approximately 70km circular hike was completed as a 24-hour hike starting at Calw Market Square. Now no one needs to hike through the night anymore, as we have divided the tour into three wonderful day stages. As a 3-stage route, what was once an ordeal becomes hiking joy, and the hiker has some time besides the daily stages to admire culture and nature.
There are three stages with very different characters, which together create a fascinating hike with a varied mix of the regional landscapes. Experience the transition from the Alb to the Black Forest, from Heckengäu to dense forests and Black Forest valleys, and become a hiking expert in the Northern Black Forest!
Author's recommendation
Since the daily stages are partly challenging in terms of length and elevation gain, you should have good hiking endurance.
Directions
The route starts at the station in Calw and leads to Sprollenhaus in the Enz valley, then through the raised bog at Kaltenbronn, onwards to Schömberg, and back to the starting point. A list of signpost locations can be found with the individual stages.
Equipment
It is recommended to have sturdy footwear, weatherproof clothing, and sufficient provisions and drinks with you, as the stages are relatively long and there is no gastronomy along the way, especially on the first stage.
