The Buchberg on the southern edge of the Baar is an 876 metre high elevation. The town of Blumberg lies at the foot of the Buchberg. The Danube used to flow between Buchberg and Eichberg further to the north. The so-called primeval valley of the Danube is also the place where the European watershed runs.
A shelter and a barbecue area invite you to linger and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view.
A 3.60 metre long panorama board provides information on the location, mountains, altitude and distance as well as the special features of the landscape.
The long-distance hiking trails Schluchtensteig, WasserWeltenSteig and the Freiburg - Lake Constance cross-country trail lead past the Buchbergstutz.
