A raft trip on the Murg
Once a year in September, visitors can experience a raft trip on the Murg at the Gernsbach Old Town Festival. The raftsmen commemorate the history of the Murg valley raftsmen, but also the history of the Murg boatmen, whose heyday in the 19th century also brought considerable wealth to the town of Gernsbach. Impressive buildings in the old town centre, such as the Old Town Hall, still bear witness to this today.
