Heidenkirche: Sandstein-Felsenmeer mit Vergangenheit

The so-called "Heidenkirche" is located near the Löcherberg. However, it is not a church building that awaits hikers there, but an imposing sea of sandstone rocks. Mystical and mysterious, huge sandstone blocks lie wildly jumbled together. Whether and to what extent the stone blocks were actually used for pagan rites is not known for certain.

The quickest way for hikers to reach the pagan church is from Löcherbergwasen via the cross path. Mountain bike tours 7, 8, 10 and 12 (see MTB map "Vorderes Kinzigtal") also lead directly past the Heidenkirche.
