37 steles lead along the "Hermann-Hesse-Weg". Starting at the Hermann-Hesse-Museum, it goes via the picturesque market square, the historic old town to the directly adjoining Stadtgarten. The steles, which consist of a historic picture part and a text part with quotes from Hesse's works, are thematically divided into three sections: The first part contains quotes from the Gerbersau stories, which provide insight into how Hesse saw his town; the second part in the Stadtgarten consists of selected poems; the third part again shows historical descriptions of the former forest café and the memorial stone for Dr. Emil Schüz. Here you then reach the small panoramic circular path with the historic larch path "Over the roofs of Calw," which is worth walking along to enjoy the beautiful view of Calw.

The Hermann-Hesse-Weg is another contribution by the association for the preservation and revitalization of cultural and natural monuments in the surrounding area. Already visible are the stone bench, the Wölflesbrunnen in the Calw city forest, a forest educational trail, and barbecue areas. Through volunteer work and the support of Calw companies and citizens, the historic scaffold was restored and work was done on the panorama path above Schillerstraße. The goal of the association is, among other things, to make the nearby forest area accessible and interesting to tourists, students, hikers, and also the residents of Calw. C.A.L.W. aims to enable looking at our beautiful town from new perspectives following Hesse's footsteps.
