The hike, which starts at the railway station in the heart of Emmendingen, leads to the Hochburg castle ruins, one of the largest castle and fortress complexes in Baden. After just 500 metres, we are in the countryside. Passing a forest playground and a leisure hut, we have a sweeping view of the Breisgau region and the Black Forest. Through orchards, fields and pastureland, we reach the Hochburg. From there we have a wonderful view of Emmendingen and the surrounding area, with the Kandelbergland in the background. After visiting the mighty castle ruins, the numerous seating areas invite you to take a break and enjoy the breathtaking views. The tour ends with a descent through the Hornwald forest at the railway station in Emmendingen.
